A Great New Year's resolution: with all diligence to add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindess, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for IF YOU DO THESE THINGS YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE. . .
It's a beautiful, crisp, autumn day, and the sun is shining gloriously in North Texas!
Praise the Lord, all nations;
Laud Him all people!
For His lovingkindness is great toward us,
And the truth of the Lord is everlasting.
Praise the Lord!-Pslm 117
Houston is actually not bad either! Except it's cloudy and somewhat windy sometimes. It's a nice change from what it WAS! Praise God for His glorious creation!
Is it cold up there? Our nights are in the 20's (and maybe teens tonight) but at least the wind stopped blowing! I love how the cold nights make the stars seem closer--God's magnificent handiwork!
great seeing you guys too! the cruise was pretty heavily discounted, we got it a lot cheaper than a normal one would probably be. plus were staying in the barrack style cabin in the bottom, totally third class, but it gets us on the boat.
We are having a musical Christmas so far (and we're not through yet). I'm ready to put up a tree, but I'll have to wait until next week. How about you?
Charlene sure enjoyed her visit with you all. I hope you all have a great holiday. Are the girls taking classes next semester again? Danny will be taking Public Speaking and the second Govn't class. He is really looking forward to it.
Portland was a beautiful place--like being inside a Christmas card. :) And it's our 30th anniversary on the 23rd. I still can't believe it's been 30 years. Wow!
i'm tired. Drove to Arkansas Friday, and got back late lastnight/this morning. Really I left last night around 10, and got back to Richardson by 430 am.
Many of us can agree that our choices for President are mediocre at best. What is a christian to do? We must stand for righteousness. When we have to dig through the rubbish of sin to find a pittance of goodness-we must dig. Whenever a battle is won, whenever something moves us closer to Godly principles, it is a victory for righteousness, a stand for truth. We can stand for goodness in a very important way this election-we can stand for the sanctity of life-of marriage as God designed it-these are vital. These are important to God. These are why we must vote. Given what's at stake, the choice should be clear.
Thought I'd pop in and say hi! Marilu and I were together when she called you the other day. Hang in there! You remember where we live, so come on over sometime, we'd love to have you all!
Thou must be true thyself,
If thou the truth wouldst teach;
Thy soul must overflow, it thou
Another's soul would'st reach!
It needs the overflow of heart
To give the lips full speech.
Think truly, and thy thoughts
Shall the world's famine feed;
Speak truly, and each word of thine
Shall be a fruitful seed;
Live truly, and thy life shall be
A great and noble creed.
Purpose to live a life of integrity and you will be fruitful!
jane austen... pride and prejudice and sense and sensibility...yup. Thought that the one with colin firth was the better movie tho, geez i sound like a girl...haha
Oh yes she is one of my best friends. I HAVE met Kelly. In fact I was her matron of honor in their wedding 15 months ago! We lived up in Canada for 3 years. It's gorgeous up there. She is on cloud nine and she sooo deserves it. It has been a long road for her. Danny is thoroughly enjoying his college classes. His favorite is the govn't class. He is looking forward to a debate that he has signed up to do as one of representatives of his class. It will be against other govn't classes. He is also taking Geology which has a lot of evolution in it of course but it has been interesting to hear the "other side" so to speak! I am glad that you all got to visit with one another. I was sorry that we couldn't touch base with them while they were here. Maybe next time! Hope you all are doing well.
I have enjoyed copying my old notes into my new Bible this year - sometimes I find I don't agree with myself any more! ;-) maybe what you need is a Journaling Bible. go to http://www.crossway.org/catalog/bibles and scroll down to Journaling Bibles
Thank you! We are doing well. Doug and I are attending a very small church in Flower Mound now, trying to help it stay alive. My g-baby is doing well but on vacation with her other g-ma. I miss her!!
I just want you to know that the baskets of goodies that you all put together for mother and daddy have come in very handy. I have been at the hospital every day but one so Mother and I have both taken advantage of everyones generosity. It is nice to have one less thing to prepare knowing that snacks are already there.
HEY!I feel like i hardly even saw you at your own house! We were all just so busy! I really appreciate you and your three wonderful daughters for allowing me to stay with you! We had such a great time, but I hope next time we will have more time to visit with each other! Thanks again!
