1 more week until relief 12-04-08 05:51pm CST
I am SOOO ready for this semester to be over with!! My online classes have kept me so busy and occupied that I can't stand it! John and I have had to forego doing some things all because I have homework. We have missed out on adventures and some meetings with friends and fellow Christians all because of my school work. It seems that almost any time we are asked to go do something or John asks if I want to go do something, I usually have to reply with, "sorry-I have homework!" On top of that, I have been working on doing 40 hours of TCLEOSE (my police officer license) CE hours before this Saturday so that I don't completely lose my license I worked so hard to get 5 1/2 years ago. Plus, I still have a research essay for my English class that was due 4 weeks ago! Oh - and I still haven't sent out thank you cards to everyone who sent us wedding gifts.....oh yeah one more thing....I still haven't uploaded all of our wedding and honeymoon pics for everyone to see....and I'm starting to get a little behind on housework now.
All of this and so much more is starting to fall behind ALL because of my TCLEOSE and college courses.

Well, in one week, both of those will be done and out of the way! I can't wait! I really don't think I can get back into school for a while because I want to thoroughly enjoy married life without having homework in the way. Instead, I am looking for a job to help out financially with our new family unit (John and me!).

I am realllllly looking forward to next week!
Ok - gotta get back to my online TCLEOSE classes.
Just had to vent.

Mrs. John Young

P.S - I'm also hoping that after next week I can actually be able to respond to all of you and comment on your blogs.
smallville24Just take a deep breath, relax, and it will all be fine!!
lbelli miss you and will call you soon!!! love you!
jhunt21I know the feeling....I am definetely counting down the days until the end of the semester.
lesliannethanks :-) I'm enjoying it... despite the lack of sleep... kids are fun, but I definitely recommend having someone come stay with you for at least a week or two after your first baby... my mom stayed almost 2 weeks and I still wish she was here just to hold Savannah some so I can get some work done... plus, if someone else is holding the baby then I can take a nap!
littlebitty624hey! do you have any wedding pics?!
gingerspiceThanks! I think it went okay, but I won't know for sure for a few days probably. I'm not sure how soon he'll have the grades posted. I'm just glad its over with!
4tea_somethingAre you coming back during the holidays? We'd love to see you & meet your new hubby!
shauna_leeI need your address missy!!!
shauna_leeI'm coming into town tomorrow. I'll be there until the 12th. My mom sent out baby shower invitations--that's why I need your address. I'll give you the info now so that it's not too last minute. It's going to be on Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 in San Marcos at my parents' house. I can give you directions if you are able to come. I'll get my mom to still send out the invitation too! :) I can't wait to see you!

John and Angela's first Thanksgiving 2008 11-28-08 11:31am CST
So this was John's and my first Thanksgiving together as a married couple!! It was very exciting! He had to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 24 hours each day so we weren't able to go out of town or anything with my in-laws or his in-laws. But, we were totally fine with it because we wanted to have our first Thanksgiving to be private. Despite all my nervousness of cooking, it turned out very well.

You see, neither one of us has EVER cooked a Thanksgiving meal before. I've cooked many dinners period. But never a turkey and never a Thanksgiving meal. Same with him. So this was a whole new experience for both of us. After receiving advice from many many people, I felt a bit overwhelmed and thought it was going to take me a week to cook and get it all right.

Since John worked Tuesday and Wednesday and didn't get off work til 7AM THursday morning, I figured I would get a headstart. I stayed up until about 5:15AM on Thursday. I went to sleep for about an hour and a half, woke up a little before 7AM on Thursday to get things continued and to be awake when John got home. And he and I cooked until 2:30PM that afternoon. In all, it took only 14 hours to cook everything! :-)

We had turkey, green beans, crescent rolls, dressing, giblet gravy, macaroni and cheese (a MUST for both of us), chive and onion mashed potatoes, sausage balls, and apple pie. Everything except for the green beans and rolls were from scratch. The only reason the green beans weren't from scratch was because the grocery store was COMPLETELY out of them when I went. And the crescent rolls we made from out of the can. But everything else was from scratch. And, I definitely could not have down all of it without all the hard work from my wonderful husband!

Here are a few pictures from yesterday. There are a few more we took that haven't been sent to the computer yet.

So our first Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful! We also continued some of our families' traditions (I brought in a Bradford tradition and he brought in a Young tradition) and started one of our own.

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

The mess we made...only the beginning of it...you should see the kitchen now..haha. This will be a busy housecleaning day!

Thank you again to my great husband, John, for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
tjmeadowsYou are amazing! I was years older than you before I cooked my first TG meal. Congratulations to the two of you. Family traditions are good. May God bless you both with many more happy holidays.
shauna_leewow--great job!!! I'm glad your Thanksgiving went well. Brandon and I had a good one too. It was just the two of us for dinner and then we had friends over that night for dessert. I cooked EVERYTHING from scratch too except for the corn and the rolls! I made a turkey, stuffing, greenbean casserole, cranberry sauce, a ham, double baked potatoes, an apple pie, baked apple and pecan cheesecake and a pumpkin pie. It took a LONG time to make everything but it was fun!!! And the amazing part of it all, was that I did not cut or burn myself--not even once! I was quite amazed!!! Have y'all decorated for Christmas yet? We put up our tree last night--it was wonderful!!! I love Christmas!!!
wife_of_burtWow! Sounds like y'all had a good one! :) Good work.
csusoftballgirlYou must have been exhausted after your day(s) of cooking. Everything looks Perfect!!! I'm glad you two had such a wonderful 1st Thanksgiving:)

Mas computer 11-04-08 11:07pm CST
.....pero mucho homework and getting ready for this weekend!

So I was without a computer for a few days...it felt kinda good because I didn't have to rely on technology. But, I also couldn't get on to take care of homework or do planning. Since John and I are about to get married and I really needed a computer for my online classes, we decided to make our first "big buy" together and bought a computer yesterday. I love it!! It's very nice and wasn't too terribly expensive! I had to put it on my credit card though. I was stressed about the money, but this is something we both really need and I know that God will find a way for us to where we won't have to struggle financially. Instead of taking full-time courses next semester again, I may end up going part-time and getting a part-time job for a little bit....at least until we can get settled and all that.

Anyway,it's been a very long week with planning and I still have more homework to do before Saturday! Crazy week! We got our marriage license today!!!!!

So, I'll have to keep my blogs short for a while. I just wanted to let everyone know that I do have a computer now. :-)

Take care
Future Mrs. Young

No mas computer 11-03-08 11:28am CST
My second and last computer finally decided to give out on me so I am without a computer for a while. Not too sure how well that will pan out since all of my classes are online. This will be interesting. Anyway, I probably won't be online for a while....not having a computer PLUS John and I are finally getting married this week!!!!! We will see most of you Wednesday, God willing. But, won't see ya'll for a little while because we will be leaving for our honeymoon after the wedding. Dominican Republic here we come!

Hopefully we'll have a new computer soon. See ya'll soon.
